The Milestones Mission

The Milestones Recovery and Peer Support Center provides a safe,
non-judgmental environment where adults with mental illness have the freedom to express their thoughts and explore strategies for recovery and living a wellness lifestyle.

Milestones Recovery and Peer Support Center is a part of CSN that offers two major services. The first is peer mentoring in which trained Peer Recovery Specialists meet with individuals both at 1919 University Ave, St. Paul and in the community (including in individual’s homes). Recovery Specialists can assist individuals by teaching skills to deal with mental illnesses such as symptom management, relapse prevention, medication management, and handling crises. Basic living and social skills can also be addressed in such areas as interpersonal communication and relationship skills, finding community resources, transportation issues, household management skills, budgeting and shopping skills, and transitioning to community living. The second service we provide is Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) classes. These are group-oriented classes for people who experience psychiatric symptoms designed to enhance wellness. They provide a self-help framework for people to take control of their lives beyond mental illness. Classes are held at the Milestones Center, Monday through Thursday 1:00 to 3:00 PM, and consist of eight sessions. The Thursday WRAP class is called Vocational WRAP and contains the same material, but also focuses on skills to get ready for and/or maintain employment. Trained peers who have overcome many challenges and maintained their wellness facilitate classes. There is no cost to the individual for our services. Participants must have MA except for Vocational WRAP participants who are part of the Rise project. For an intake call Lois Berns at (651) 266-7871.
